Munich, 30th June 2022. Today, Westwing launches its new collaboration “Donald Robertson x Westwing Collection” with pop art icon Donald Robertson. Colorful, playful and a big dose of personality - that’s what artist Donald Robertson’s designs stand for. The work of Donald Robertson, or @Drawbertson as he is better known on Instagram, spans various industries as well as media. A modern combination of fashion and interior in unique designs, with the artistic signature of the Canadian pop art icon, characterize the new Westwing Collection.
Donald Robertson works with everyday materials and bright colors, using his talent to capture beauty and femininity with a sense of humor. This pop art style aesthetic is also reflected in his designs for Westwing. The products in the Donald Robertson x Westwing Collection display expressive, cheerful and playful illustrations that revel in a spontaneous sense of form and color. “Our collaboration with Donald Robertson is the quintessence of not taking things too seriously - also design-wise. His art is bold, it is colorful, it is simply fun and we wanted to translate exactly that into the textiles and the plates he designed for us. “I can’t really decide what is my favorite thing about our collaboration. I love my duct tape items, so I love that the Westwing Collection team did the plates with my tape art on it. I also love my fashion paintings that were used on the pillows. Then I do this weird combo of gaffa tape turned into flowers and they picked it up and turned it into beddings, so I am very excited about that as well. I can’t believe there is actually bedding with my drippy lips design on it,” says the pop art icon Donald Robertson.
