What are your main responsibilities at Westwing as a Quality Assistant?

“I am a Quality Assistant for textiles and I am working closely together with the Quality Manager. I am involved in the product development steps as well as in the improvements of existing products throughout the analysis and evaluation of data ratings, coming mostly from customers. Additionally, I am always in close contact with the Buying Department, Creative Team, Supply Chain Management, and of course our international suppliers.”

What do your working days look like?

“A “regular” home office day is mainly for activities and tasks that I can drive by myself or do not require sample checking of textiles in person. Typical activities include checking the stock information reviews and requests, sample ordering, SPECS checks and updates, shipment release inspections, and the update of database documents.

A “regular” office day involves checking many samples and aligning with other team members about all the current open topics. Additionally, office days are dedicated to the analyses, and the assembly and quality checking of the product itself. Furthermore, on the office days, I take the opportunity to have information discussed and communicated with all different teams in person (Buying, Supply Chain Management, and Quality). Most of the time, I am not at my desk due to the various meetings in the office. A stop in the coffee corner is also a must.”

With which tasks do you start and end your day?

“First of all, I am checking my emails to identify which tasks I need to tackle right away. Then, I create a short overview list with my to-dos and prioritize them for the day. Also, a quick morning alignment check-in call with my Quality Manager is part of my daily routine.

Typically, I am closing the day by reviewing my created overview list from the morning and checking if there are still open to-dos. I double-check as well if some meetings for the next few days are needed and send out already meeting invitations to align with my co-workers.”

How do your breaks look like?

“On a home office day, I usually cook something during my lunch breaks and have a coffee on my balcony in between meetings, to focus on the upcoming tasks. In the office, I like to spend the lunch breaks on the Westwing terrace (if the weather allows it) with my co-workers, where we talk about non-work-related topics.”

What inspires you about working at Westwing?

“What inspires me is having many examples of independent business women in my life driving their careers fiercely and seeing many of them developing and growing along with Westwing. The diverse and multicultural workplace at Westwing also motivates me to step out of my comfort zone and explore new challenges.”
